Regional and State Challenge Master Meeting / State Board Meeting

Event Details...
This meeting is intended for our regional challenge masters from across the state to meet with the state
challenge masters and our state appraiser training coordinator to review challenge procedures,
clarifications, and changes in rules, and to work on improvement in our own training processes. We also
strive to assure that we appraise consistently across the state. Concurrently, we have a State Board
meeting for all regional and state board members to finalize organizational plans for the regional, state
and global finals.

Region I Instant Challenge Play Day (ICPD)

Event Details...
$10 per team. ICPD gives teams a chance to practice the instant challenge skills they've been learning in a simulated
tournament environment. It's all for fun & helps teams figure out what they do well & what they need to
work on, while helping to relieve some of the Tournament Day jitters of entering the Instant Challenge
Room for the first time! Send registration forms (on the website -
get them here!) no later than one week
before IC Play Day.

Challenge Masters & review the intricacies of the team's chosen challenge - not their solutions, just the
challenge itself - and discuss the expected tournament procedures and locations!

Mandatory for All Appraisers. Other than the teams, the appraisers are the most important part of our regional tournament! We want
them to be comfortable in their roles as ap-PRAISE-rs. Designed with ALL appraisers (new &
experienced) in mind, this session will cover program structure, terminology, appraiser roles, rules of the
road & how to apply them, rubrics for evaluating challenge elements, what to expect on tournament day,
& how to interact with teams, team managers, & team parents. Additional sessions will address
challenge-specific & role-specific appraiser topics. By the end of the session, participants will be certified
to appraise their assigned challenge.
